Rimini?
Rimini offers an efficient and modern tourist infrastructure and is renowned
for its hospitality and extraordinary ability to make people feel welcome.
Rimini is a cosmopolitan town but at the same time maintains its traditional
Italian atmosphere, whether at the seaside or at the heart of the town:
the historical centre. Rimini, is renowned for the sea, for its famous
sandy beaches, for its gourmet culture and its reputation as the capital
for entertainment and leisure, but it also boasts an illustrious past,
which dates back to the ancient Romans.
How
can I reach Rimini?
You can easily reach it:
- by car: Motorway A14 exit “Rimini Sud”. Turn right at
the exit of the motorway. At the first traffic lights go straight on.
You will see us (the glass building) immediately on the right. We are
on the third floor.
- by train: Direct links to/from Bologna, Milan, Rome, Turin and from
European countries.
- by plane: Rimini airport (10 minutes), Bologna airport (1 hour), Forlì
airport (25 minutes), Verona airport (2 hours) and Ancona airport (1.5
hours) are the nearest, but it’s very simple to reach Rimini also
from Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence
- by ship: port of Ancona – ferries to/from Greece, Croatia, Turkey,
Egypt.
What
about travelling by car to Rimini?
Coming by your own car or renting one is a very good idea. Rimini is a
small town where you will easily find car parks free of charge. Furthermore,
you will be able to move as you want without depending on public transport.
It is also possible to hire a car in Rimini, both at the airport and at
the railway station (Europecar, Hertz, Maggiore etc.).
How
can I reach you?
We offer a pick up service to/from your airport or train station on request.
If you wish the school to arrange a transfer, please send us the arrival
information (date and time of arrival and flight or train number) so we
can give you an estimate.
What
about the weather?
Rimini has a typical Mediterranean weather. Summer is warm, with hot weeks
in July and August. Spring and first autumn are cooler, though it is still
possible to bathe in the sea. In winter, the temperature rarely goes under
zero.
What
about bicycles?
If you want to take your own bicycle (or to hire one), it’s a good
idea because moving around in Rimini is nice and simple and you can also
take a ride on the beach.
The use of mountain bikes is common on special routes in the near country
side.
What
about public transport?
Rimini has a very good bus service.
Tickets can be purchased at tobacconists’ and newsagents’,
and are supposed to be stamped on board. The school direction, upon request,
can provide student bus passes for 1,2,3 weeks or monthly passes.

Are
there restaurants in Rimini?
In Rimini you can find a lot of restaurants. Most of them are directly
on the beach with a beautiful view and you can be sure that the food is
delicious.
There are also nice places for a fast snack or for a “piadina”
( a traditional Romagnolo dish) or a pizza; don’t worry you’ll
find all the information you need directly at school. Last but not least,
a coffee and a drinks machine is at your disposal at school.
Is
there a post office?
Yes, The post office is just near our school. Opening time: 8.30 –
17.30
Is
there a bank where I can change money or use the ATM (automatic teller
machine)?
In Rimini there are many banks. Opening time: 8.30 –13.00 /14.30
–15.30, closed on Saturdays and Sundays. All of them with a ATM
point 24h a day.
Is
there a public telephone?
Besides the public telephones in bars and the phone boxes you can use
with a phone card purchasable at tobacconists’ or newsagents’,
there is a public telephone place in the town center.
Is
there an internet point?
At School, during our opening hours, the use of the computer to write
or to use internet is free. The cost to print or photocopy a page is 10
eurocent .
Where
can I send a fax from?
At our school you can receive faxes free of charge and send them for a
fee of 1 euro per page.
Where
can I go shopping?
In Rimini there are supermarkets, groceries, bakers’ and all the
main shops where you can buy local specialities like wine, pasta, bread,
cheese or ham. For clothes, shoes, books, CDs or anything else we suggest
the weekly markets, typical of Italy, and usually offering special genuine
products and clothes at cheaper prices. You can find them Wednesday morning
and Saturday morning in Rimini town center.
Are
there churches?
In Rimini, just like in any Italian town or city, there are churches with
daily masses.
Is
there a touristic office?
There are many touristic offices in Rimini. We are anyway at your disposal
to give you any information you may need.

Are
there sport centres?
There is a gym and a swimming pool just near the school.

and many places where you can do sport directly on the beach.
Furthermore, there are fitness centres which offer courses of aerobics,

Endless are of course the possibilities of sea sports: sailing, kite surfing,
surfing, water skiing, swimming, diving etc.
Are
there Fun Parks?
During your stay in Rimini a visit to the Fun Parks should not be missed:

Are
there thermal baths (spas)?
In Rimini, near the beach there is “ Rimini Terme” (thermal
baths) which is very famous and well-known.
Is
there a pharmacy?
Yes, one near the school and many more in the center. Homeopathic pharmacies
can be found in Rimini as well as 24-hour pharmacies. You should not forget
to take, if necessary, your own medical prescriptions.
